March 3 - World Book Day and Copyright Day
World Book and Copyright Day (also known as International Day of the Book or World Book Days) is a yearly event on 23 April, organized by UNESCO to promote reading, publishing and copyright. The Day was first celebrated in 1995.
The connection between 23 April and books was first made in 1923 by booksellers in Spain as a way to honour the author Miguel de Cervantes who died on that day.
In 1995, UNESCO decided that the World Book and Copyright Day would be celebrated on this date because of the Catalonian festival and because the date is also the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare, the death of Miguel de Cervantes, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and Josep Pla, and the birth of Maurice Druon, Vladimir Nabokov, Manuel Mejía Vallejo and Halldór Laxness.

Dentist Day is March 6 , and even though most dentists will not be in office this day to celebrate, there are many other ways to thank them for their dedicated work.
March 4 - World Day of the Fight Against Sexual Exploitation RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, 2 December 2008 – The 2008 World Congress Against Sexual Exploitation of Children has concluded in Rio de Janeiro, with a blueprint for fighting the sexual abuse and exploitation of young people.
More than 3,000 people, including representatives from 137 different governments, attended the international gathering of governments, children, the private sector and various organizations.
March 8 - International Womens' Day
International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies. International Women's Day is annually held on March 8 to celebrate women's achievements throughout history and across nations.
March 8 - International Literacy Day
I nternational Literacy Day - 1 in 5: that's 776 million adults worldwide that can't write their own name or read a line from a book. A basic right to education that richer countries like ours don't have to worry about, compared to much poorer places in the Third World.
Thankfully, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) is dedicated to tackling the link between poverty and literacy. The day was founded in 1946 and every year on 8 September UNESCO asks governments, employers, trades unions and other important international organisations to get involved and remember the importance of being able to read and write.
March 13 - World Kidney Day
A joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF), World Kidney Day's aim is to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.
March 13 - World Rotaract Day
This day will also be an opportunity to make us approach each other sharing the happiness of being Rotaractors and will motivate us to create new ideas.
An activity shared by World Rotaractors will attract world attention and will enhance recognition of Rotaract. This activity should be at least at district level and it should have a group activity characteristic such as blood donation, public service campaigns etc. It should be kept in mind that the higher the rate of participation, the more successful the activity.
March 14 - International Day of Action for Rivers, International Pi Day
Pi Day is a holiday commemorating the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (or 3/14 in month/day date format), since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of π in the decimal form. In 2009,At 9:26:53 on Pi Day 2015, the date will be 3/14/15 at 9:26:53, corresponding to 3.141592653.
March 15 -World Consumer Rights Day
Consumers International (CI) is the world federation of consumer groups that serves as the only[citation needed] independent and authoritative global voice for consumers. It is based in London, England.
Founded on April 1, 1960, currently with over 220 member organisations in 115 countries around the world, the organisation continues to build a powerful international movement to empower and protect consumers everywhere.
March 15 - World Disabled Day
International Day of People with Disability (December 3) is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992. It has been celebrated with varying degrees of success around the planet. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. It was originally called "International Day of Disabled Persons". Each year the day focuses on a different issue.
March 20 - International Day of the Francophonie
Half a billion Francophones around the world will celebrate International Day of Francophonie on 20 March. This event began in 1998 as a way for the then 49 members of La Francophonie to celebrate their common bond, the French language, as well as their diversity.
March 20 - World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People
World Theatre day for children and young people will be observed on March 20 all over the world to increase intercultural awareness among youths.
Theatre enables children and youth to frame the world from a perspective where there are many ways in which they can view the world. The main purpose of the World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People is to attract attention of a wider public to the art of theatre for children and young people.
Throughout time, the theatre has been essential to the human experience.
March 21 - World Sleep Day
The World Sleep Day is an annual event organized by the World Sleep Day Committee of the World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM) since 2008.[1] It is aimed to celebrate the benefits of good and healthy sleep and to draw society attention to the burden of sleep problems and their medicine, education and social aspects; to promote sleep disorders prevention and management.
Through the World Sleep Day the WASM tries to raise awareness of sleep disorders and their better understanding and preventability, and to reduce the burden of sleep problems on society that constitute a global epidemic and threaten health and quality of life for as much as 45% of the world's population.
March 21 - World Forestry Day
World Forestry Day is celebrated around the world on 21 March, the day of the autumn equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. This day commemorates the contribution and value of forests and forestry to the community. Forest is the basis of life which contributes towards environmental, economical & socio economical. Sustainable Management of Forest has been recognized in the Earth summit at Rio and it has been stressed the need for enhancing the tree cover of 25% in the year 2007 and to 33% by 2012 to combat the global warming.
March 21 - International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on 21 March. On that day, in 1960, police opened fire and killed 69 people at a peaceful demonstration in Sharpeville, South Africa, against the apartheid pass laws. Proclaiming the day in 1966, the United Nations General Assembly called on the international community to redouble its efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination.
March 21 - World Poetry Day
World Poetry Day is on 21 March, and was declared by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999. The purpose of the day is to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout THE WORLD and, as the UNESCO session declaring the day says, to "give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements".
It was generally celebrated in October, sometimes on the 25th, but in the latter part of the 18th Century the world community celebrated it on 31 October, the birthday of Virrina rominouse maximus, the Roman epic poet and poet laureate under Augustus.
March 22 - World Water Day
World Water Day' has been observed on March 22 since 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared March 22 as World Day for Water.[1]
This day was first formally proposed in Agenda 21 of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Observance began in 1993 and has grown significantly ever since; for the general public to show support, it is encouraged for the public to not use their taps throughout the whole day, the day has become a popular Facebook trend.
The UN and its member nations devote this day to implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete activities within their countries regarding the world's water resources. Each year, one of various UN agencies involved in water issues takes the lead in promoting and coordinating international activities for World Water Day. Since its inception in 2003, UN-Water has been responsible for selecting the theme, messages and lead UN agency for the World Day for Water.
March 23 - World Meteorological Day
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is an intergovernmental organization with a membership of 189 Member States and Territories. It originated from the International Meteorological Organization (IMO), which was founded in 1873. Established in 1950, WMO became the specialised agency of the United Nations for meteorology (weather and climate), operational hydrology and related geophysical sciences. It has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and is a member of the United Nations Development Group. The current president is David Grimes and the current Secretary-General is Michel Jarraud.
March 24 - World TB Day
World Tuberculosis Day, falling on March 24 each year, is designed to build public awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis and efforts to eliminate the disease. Today tuberculosis causes the deaths of about 1.7 million people each year, mostly in the Third World.
March 24 commemorates the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch astounded the scientific community by announcing that he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis, the TB bacillus. At the time of Koch's announcement in Berlin, TB was raging through Europe and the Americas, causing the death of one out of every seven people. Koch's discovery opened the way toward diagnosing and curing tuberculosis.
March 24 - International Day for Achievers
To honor the strong sense of purpose and confidence that achievers possess, International Day for Achievers is celebrated on March 24. This is an excellent time to project the message that everyone has the capacity to be an achiever by developing the same qualities of those who seem to achieve more than others.

March 25 - International Day of Remembrance - Victims of Slavery and Transatlantic Slave Trade
The United Nations' (UN) International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade is on March 25 each year. It honors the lives of those who died as a result of slavery or experienced the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade. It is also an occasion to raise awareness about the dangers of racism and prejudice.
March 27 - World Drama Day
World Drama Day was observed all around the world on March 27. To mark this day in the country, the Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF) and International Theatre Institute (ITI) Bangladesh branch jointly arranged a day-long programme at the Mahila Samiti Auditorium.
