Cheeseburger History
Are you interested in knowing the facts about cheeseburger history? Is food history in general something that you would like to know about? Does knowing the origins of a food make it more satisfying to eat it for you? Well we have the answers about cheeseburger history that you are looking for!
Cheeseburgers have been around since sometime around 1925. Some people will state it as fact that a man named Lionel Sternberger invented the cheeseburger in 1924 while he was working as a fry cook in his dad's restaurant. He was supposedly 16 at the time. A homeless man is rumored to have suggested slapping a piece of cheese on a hamburger to make it more tasty. Whoever suggested it, it was a good idea!
Anyway, true cheeseburger history may be a bit more involved than that simple story. There are many other restaurants in the united states of america that claim to have invented the cheeseburger. One interesting facet of cheeseburger history to consider is that many people may have had the idea of creating a grilled hamburger recipes within the same decade of each other - all in parallel ways.
Cheeseburger History
There was even someone (who was not Lionel Sternberger) who applied for a trademark on the word cheeseburger in 1930. This fact and all the restaurants in different states who suggest to have invented the cheeseburger right around the same time suggest that perhaps the country was just ripe for the idea and many people did come up with it at the same time.
Whatever the real story is behind cheeseburger history, we may never know, but one thing is for sure. Cheeseburgers are a well-loved food that has stood the test of almost 100 years of time. Our country is in love with cheeseburgers and they are here to stay. It's no surprise that we love them so - burgers, cheese, buns, and totally easy to make and eat on the go!
