Can you think of a better way of learning some history ? There are several songs with a focus on historical events and as a matter of fact, some of them are very accurate and meaningful ! In this lens I am highlighting what I believe are the best 10 songs with a history theme.
1. Alexander the Great (1986)
Iron Maiden

Number 1 on my list one of the many Iron Maidensongs with a history theme. It was released in 1986 with the album Somewhere in Time. It follows the life of the Great Macedon King, highlighing all his great achievements until his unexpected death by fever in Babylon at the age of 33. Highly recommented song but you should really listen to it with the lyrics in hand so you can enjoy it to the full.
2. Wind of Change (1990)
