If Love, A Poem
If Love
If love lights the way
Then why is our path murky and gray,
Charcoal as the stones in the yard
That we once walked with our fingers intertwined.
Today that twine has frayed
From the hammock we once curled in together -
A frayed heart you leave in me,
With charcoal gray lines that are not yet shaded in.
