A Tribute to The Relay Band

I live in Florida, but when I go back home to my hometown in Michigan, there are certain things I like to do. I always go and get a Coney Dog, a great pizza, some fish and chips, and I always go visit my small town boys.

There are certain things I cherish in life and one of them are my small town boys. I am not talking about just any old boys…I am talking about my boys…The Relay Band.

The Relay Band is a band from my hometown of Mount Morris, Michigan. They are a legend in my neck of the woods. The Relay Band was formed in 1979. That was a great year in our town. A year of fun and lots of parties. Wilbur and Tom Hilton, are brothers and they had a dream of starting their own band. A dream that has lasted for over 30 years. Playing in the mid and Northern Michigan area, they have played in numerous places and have met a lot of great friends along the way.

Playing classic rock, blues, oldies and more, they always put on a great show. They have many followers, most of whom are their friends from school. Playing in numerous places over the years they have managed to keep their dream alive.

Old members are now gone, but the band still plays on. With new members including: Wilbur Hilton on vocals, Perry Pintoski on guitar and vocals, Michael Addision on drums and vocals, and Dennis McKay on the bass guitar and vocals. While they are a spirited bunch of great guys, they have always found a way to keep up with the times.

I love my small town boys and love their music most of all. Great memories....memories they have shared with me for over 30 years. So, when I go home to my familiar things….I always visit my boys.
