Big Cats in The Forest
There have been the strongest indications recently that there are indeed big cats roaming in the forest and the source of this information is none other than the forest rangers themselves. Since the availability of new information under the Freedom of Information Act, there have been two confirmed sightings of big cats in the Forest.
These were not chance sightings, there were two large cats sighted using thermal imaging equipment set up at night specifically to confirm such a possibility.
The sightings were at the edge of Churchill and also at Staple Edge in February 2002 and March 2005 respectively.
Although the big cats have not been caught on camera, the police forces around Gloucestershire certainly think that there are pairs of the large cats in the Forest and in the wider Cirencester area.
Many walkers in the area report sightings each year varying from leopard to lynx, but they have never been photographed and are usually at quite a distance. If you should happen to spot something then you should write the details down and inform the police on 0845 090 1234.
There are many ideas about how such animals could still exist in the Forest, but one of the most popular is usually that of escapees from zoos and animal parks, or even escaped circus animals from the 1970s.
Keep you eyes peeled, you may be the one to confirm their presence and get that much sought after phoptograph.
