Image organizer and viewer applications: Picasa
Picasa is an image organizer and viewer application. It was created both to organize and edit digital photos, plus has an integrated web site for sharing photos. The application was originally created by a company called Lifescape in 2002 and is owned by Google since 2004.
In July 2004, Google acquired Picasa and made available to all for free. Parallel to the development of the application, Google developed a web photo service through under the name Picasaweb.
With the development of Picasa Web, Google abandoned the project Hello. Currently, Picasa can integrate two applications of the Google browser, Google and Gmail. In its node editing videos, you can climb it made directly to the user's personal account on Youtube.
The Picasa program allows the inventory of all computer graphics files, sorting and order, and also includes tools for editing and retouching. The program interacts with picasaweb allowing the photos placed directly on the albums. Currently distributed in 38 languages.

Some utilities and tools included as improvement over version 1 include:
* Quickly find, view and organize all the files stored.
* Allows editing of photos: crop, remove red eye, etc..
* Create collages and slide shows.
* Allows storage images in Picasa Web Albums.
The minimum system requirements for using the software are: Windows 2000/XP/Vista (also distributed a version for Linux), 128 MB RAM, 50 MB of available hard disk.
Picasa 3
Improvements in version 2.X 3.X on the are:
* Automatically synchronizes the photos published in the local computer using the software Picasa Web Albums at Picasaweb. Automatically update the new pictures added and changes to existing (Settings, edit, label information, etc).
* Retouch images. Includes brushes and various utilities for the restoration of old photos, repair marks, smudges and scratches removal.
* Preview photos with Picasa Photo Viewer. Utility to display photos and full-screen presentation allows the same rotation, zooming and qualification of the photos while viewing.
* Allows you to add text and watermark to the photos. Allows you to add these marks to photos on your computer or the photos uploaded to Web Albums.
* New load provided to Picasa Web albums. By drag and drop or upload tools.
* Set Picasa Web Albums from Picasa software. It allows among other things: set the privacy level for albums, resize images, delete images or albums synchronize the changes in the photos,
* Manage folders on your computer.
* Get more information about your photos.
* Supports RAW files.
