Maxima is coming to Smallville who is she
Before Maxima lands in Smallville tonight- here is some background info on the intergalactic sex goddess.
Maxima first appeared in DC Comics in 1989 so she is a fairly recent addition to the DC Universe. She is a princess from the planet Almerac and one of the few individuals in the galaxy who is genetically compatible with Superman. She has had a history of offering herself to Superman and having him reject her. Superman’s reasoning is he has no interest in becoming a tyrant ruler as her mate- and he won’t leave Lois Lane and earth. Read more at Superman Homepage!
In the series Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman , Superman was talked into an arranged marriage with a fellow Kryptonian who was from new Krypton. She was no tyrant but neither was she interested in mating with Superman- it was a marriage of political convenience. Clark Kent/ Kal-El has a history of attracting alien women who want his strength for their own. In recent Superman comics the Insect Queen took on the guise of Lana Lang and tried to get Superman to leave his wife and be her mate. 
Tonight Clark will be battling only one alien – luckily! But her powers are those of seduction. How will our resident boy scout resist? Darren Swimmer, executive producers has said he would like there to be at least one episode with Maxima. She was part of the Justice League who helped defeat Doomsday so do not be surprised if she makes another appearance later this season.
