20 facts about me
1. I was born premature and the doctors told my Mom to me give away to an orphanage, because i'd be a complete idiot and die at the age of 12.
2. I'm very thankful to my parents for how they raised me. They treated me as an adult from the very beginning, I had all the freedom in the world, so I had to set the boundaries for myself. It still works out great for me.
3. I learned to talk before I got my first teeth and waaaay before I could walk.
4. Till about 11 I was a devoted Beatles fan and thought that listening to other music would be like cheating on the Beatles. Then Pink Floyd, the Doors and Led Zeppelin forced me to change my mind. still love the Beatles though.
5. I love my husband. Once I mentioned him, it would be hard not to write the rest of this note about him :)
6. My husband Ivan was born on January 5, so was I. so all the holidays we celebrate are for the both of us. And we always exchange new year and birthday gifts early, around December 20th or so.
7. I used to be self-sufficient until I met Ivan.
8. I always wanted to express myself through different forms of art, but i never wanted any audience. I'm in it for the process, not the result.
9. My younger brother is the only critic I can trust.
10. If i could, I'd have just one set of clothes to keep me from beign naked and cold. Ok, two sets of clothes for the sake of hygene :)
11. I don't dye my hair any more, and it's terrific. It turned out my natural color is rich, and my hair feel better without this torture )
12. If not for guests , we'd probably never clean our apartment properly.
13. I play harmonica, flute, guitar or digital piano every day. Also, when no one is around, i sing and record it all. and yes, poor neighbors.
14. I like my singing voice, but I'm a perfectionist, so it's hard for me to sing in public. But when we sing with my Dad, I don't care who's listening :) We're rehearsing some songs over the phone and e-mail now, because we live in different cities.
15. Metallica's James Hetfield's voice is the one I'd choose for myself if I got to choose.
16. Sometimes the thought that I deserve my happiness scares me. Overall, I'm slightly paranoid. I'll see a doctor if it ever get bad, I promise )
17. When I was assigned to learn and recite the Soviet hymn (2nd or 3rd grade) I refured to learn it and chose to learn a longer poem by a Russian classic, and I argued the teacher into giving me and A for it, even though she was Soviet to the bone, and the poem surely wasn't.
18. I have big boobs (they seem even bigger, 'cos I'm so short), and I hate it when people talk to them, not to me. I used to pretend not to notice, but now I feel confident to say "hello, I'm here, look up". They're getting me the attention I don't want.
19. I love being financially independent.
20. Weird, but each time I look at my husband's hair, I get this strong feeling I should have his baby. I do want to have a baby, but i'm confused with all this hair thing. Instincts, I guess :)
