Have you tried cooking with anchovies? The anchovies, according to research, are small, shiny, and silver fish that is a member of the Engraulis (Mediterranean and European) or the Anchoa (North American) family. Most often than not, these anchovies go in large schools of fish similar to that of the Herring. The anchovies are typically small in size.

Ingredients:

  • 15 ounces of tomatoes (ripe)
  • 4 pieces of garlic cloves (peeled and finely chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of sugar
  • 10 to 12 anchovy fillets (drained)
  • 1 piece of large white onions (sliced)
  • ½ teaspoon of sea salt
  • Prosciutto (chopped)
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling

Method:

  1. Take out a bowl, place the tomatoes, and fill it with boiling water to peel away the skin.
  2. Let it sit for about half a minute or so.
  3. Then, drain the water and peel away the tomato skins.
  4. After that, slice the tomatoes into quarters.
  5. Roughly chop up the flesh of the tomatoes.
  6. Take out a pan and heat it over medium high heat.
  7. Add in oil. Mix in the chili and fry it until the time that it softens.
  8. Then, add in the garlic and continue frying it for a maximum of 30 seconds. After that, add in the tomato flesh that you chopped as well as the sugar and salt. Stir all of the ingredients.
  9. Lower down the heat to a simmer. Simmer the sauce for about 15 to 20 minutes or by the time that the tomatoes have broken down and the sauce has become thick. Take out the pan from the heat source and place it aside.
  10. Let it cool down a bit. After cooling the sauce, spread it on the pizza crust. Place the sliced prosciutto as well as the anchovy fillets and arrange them.
  11. Do not forget to also sprinkle it with the sliced white onions that you prepared.
  12. Drizzle the pizza with olive oil. Bake it in the oven (400 degrees) for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the toppings are cooked through. (You can also sprinkle the pizza with mozzarella cheese if you like.)
