May 2013 – Ramble about real life v online troubles continued
I wrote yesterday about how the importance of the online world had diminished recently as I encountered various real life situation that reminded me how important life is and how we must all take each moment as we can. I finished with a piece of advice:
“Focus on your family, your health and your life – do everything you can do to make yourself happy and make those happy around you.”
Yesterday Mother Nature gave us all a reminder about how fragile our existence is and in one instant our lives can change forever. My hearts is breaking as I watch the devastation unfold before me – having experienced the fear of a hurricane in New Jersey in 2012 I can empathize with the fear and helplessness people must have felt during those fateful minutes as the tornado destroyed everything in its path. I cannot even grasp the profound sense of loss these people must feel as they see their lives destroyed and their loved ones perhaps lost forever. My love and prayers go out to all caught up in this tragedy.
Oklahoma will survive and prosper – within the past few weeks and months we’ve gone from Jersey Strong, to Boston Strong and now to Oklahoma Strong – I beseech anyone out there to help out where they can even if it’s with an encouraging word or a prayer – let's help these people come through their personal hells and emerge in a land that should be about love and peace, not war and greed.
It will take years for the devastation to diminish, and some will hold onto the pain forever – I pray that in solidarity as one nation we can help people heal and truly make the world a better place.
To expand on my advice from yesterday:
“Live for today, love until your life is full and nurture those who are in need”
