Easy old fashion biscuits
Will make about 8-10 biscuits according to how small you make them.
2 cups of self rising flour
2 tablespoons of oil
1 cup of milk(sometimes you may need more according to texture)
Dash of salt.(I do not use it but some prefer a little salt)
While mixing, preheat oven to 350.
Mix all ingredients in bowl. Set a small bowl aside with flour in it. This will be used to sprinkle in your bowl or rub on your hands. Do not be afraid to get your hands into the dough. Kneed the dough until it is mixed well. Then pull off enough to roll into a ball and flatten for a biscuit. After each biscuit you may need to sprinkle a little flour in you mixture in order to prevent sticky fingers. Leave about an inch in between each biscuit. Then using butter or margarine, spread a small amount on top of each biscuit before baking. It will do wonders for them.
Baking at 350 degrees, the biscuits should be risen and brown on the bottom within 10 minutes, according to the oven. Then broil tops making them a light golden brown.
ps. Please do not be discouraged if your biscuits are not as pretty as you would like. Mine were horribly wrinkled, but tasted great. Practice makes perfect, so do not give up.
