Rob Smart, aka "Jambutter" on Twitter, wants for you to say "no" to fast food on Friday. That is because Friday is "No Fast Food Friday."
The idea, which was sparked by the fairly popular Meatless Monday, began as a tweet on March 25. Since then, the idea has taken off. Tweets have been flying about marked #NoFastFoodFriday.
Why no fast food? The primary reason is rooted in concern for the environment. That monetarily cheap fast food carries a heavy price in terms of its impact on the environment.
Of course, that isn't the only reason to embrace the movement. Fast food has been linked to obesity and poor health. Fast food tends to be high in calories, high in cholesterol, loaded with sodium and sugar, and low in nutritional value.
So, this Friday, pass the drive-thru and opt for a nice meal at home instead. Your body and the environment will both thank you for it.
